The Challenge
and our Answer
The AI landscape is changing at breakneck speed. The challenge isn’t adopting AI but managing it effectively. The Wise Sailor helps you independently set up and manage an AI management system.
Take control of AI yourself, without becoming dependent on long-term consulting projects. With our AI Governance Mastery Framework, we translate the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and the NIST AI RMF into practical, customized training programs. We combine this with a pragmatic Lean Black Belt approach to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.
In addition, we offer fractional consulting: flexible, high-quality, customized guidance when you need immediate senior-level expertise, during which we always transfer that knowledge to your team so it truly remains in-house. This way, you’ll build the knowledge and skills to navigate the AI landscape in a controlled, agile, and autonomous manner.
Explore our current training offerings below. We’ll soon be expanding this with custom-designed e-learning modules. Not sure where you stand yet? Feel free to contact us for a no-obligation exploration conversation.
Understanding Your AI Foundation
With our e-learning or customized training, you’ll learn how to independently conduct an AI Management System (AIMS) maturity assessment. This will allow you to clearly map out the status of your AIMS and maintain a sharp focus on future opportunities and challenges.

Lay the Foundation
Responsible AI management starts with a clear direction and a solid foundation. In the Plan phase, you lay the groundwork for a manageable and future-proof AI management system, focusing on leadership, organizational and legal frameworks, and sufficient expertise within your organization.
We offer the following training courses for your Plan phase:
• AI Leadership: Ensure demonstrable leadership at the executive level and develop a formal AI policy that complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act.
• AI Risk Classification: Determine the exact scope of your AI management system and classify the risk level of your AI systems in accordance with the legal frameworks of the EU AI Act.
• AI Literacy: Comply with the legal obligation set forth in Article 4 of the EU AI Act by ensuring your staff has the necessary level of knowledge about AI.
Frameworks and Legislation
In the Do phase, you put the AI strategy into practice. You translate policy into a functioning AI management system in which risks are actively managed, and employees use AI safely and effectively, in accordance with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act.
We offer the following training courses for your Do phase:
• AI Risk Management: Implement an integrated and structured AI risk management methodology in accordance with the principles of ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI RMF.
• AI Impact Assessments: Assess both the individual and societal impacts of AI and safeguard the fundamental rights outlined in the EU AI Act.
• AI Controls: Integrate the control measures from ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI RMF into your business operations.
Evaluate Performance and Risks
During the Check phase, you monitor and evaluate the AI management system. Through internal audits and performance measurements, you identify deviations, risks, and shortcomings. This ensures that AI remains safe and compliant with ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act and lays the foundation for targeted improvements.
We offer the following training courses for your Check phase:
• AI Certification Audit: Learn how to conduct an internal audit independently and prepare your organization for the conformity assessment and external certification audits for ISO/IEC 42001.
• AI Management Evaluation: Conduct the mandatory management review of the AI management system’s performance in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001.
Continuously Improve And Ensure Quality
In the Act phase, you translate audit and evaluation results into concrete improvements. You correct deviations, manage new risks, and adapt policies to technological and regulatory changes. This ensures that your AI management system remains sustainable, compliant, and effective.
We offer the following training courses for your Act phase:
• AI Improvement Cycle: Manage the entire AI lifecycle of your AI systems, including post-market monitoring and incident logging.
• AI Decommissioning: Safely shut down, archive, and decommission obsolete AI systems without compromising data privacy.

No long-term consulting contracts, just the knowledge you need to do it yourself right away
Acquiring and Retaining Knowledge
At The Wise Sailor, we believe that true innovative power arises from strengthening your own expertise, enabling you to become self-managed and audit ready. We guide you through the training so that you can independently set up, implement, and manage an AI management system (AIMS) that fully complies with international frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001 and the mandatory requirements of the EU AI Act. We combine this with a pragmatic Lean Black Belt approach to eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.
By sharing our expertise directly with you, we train and coach you to independently secure the AIMS. We keep an eye on things, if necessary, but teach you how to set the course yourself. This is how AI governance becomes your sustainable internal strength. Should you require it throughout the entire process, we are of course always available for any questions and additional guidance.
Securing the Future
Getting trained is only step one, embedding that expertise is where our strength lies. From day one, we pay extensive attention to retaining your knowledge. Through our practice-oriented training program, clear structures, and continuous guidance, we ensure:
-
Ownership: You are at the helm. You will learn to understand how an AI management system works, how to manage AI risks, and how to scale AI systems safely and in a human-centered way.
-
Retention: Knowledge really sticks. You learn to structure the frameworks and processes in such a way that your accumulated expertise remains secure in the long term.
-
Autonomy: Sustainably independent. You are prepared for current and future regulations and can move forward independently, without being tied to long-term, costly consultancy contracts.

Take the lead on responsible AI and maintain control within your organization
Our Vision on Consultancy
As founders of The Wise Sailor, we’ve spent years on both sides of the table: as hired consultants and as clients. As a result, we know the traditional consulting model better than anyone. Consultants come in, produce thick reports, and set up complex processes. But as soon as they leave, the expertise they’ve built up goes out the door with them.
The result? You’re left with a temporary solution, without the knowledge to manage, expand, or account for the system on your own. You remain dependent on external parties, a costly, time-consuming, and frustrating situation.
Especially in the rapidly changing world of artificial intelligence and strict legislation, that dependence poses a major risk.
This must, and can, change.
That’s why we started The Wise Sailor.
We don’t believe in long-term dependence, but rather in the direct transfer of knowledge and expertise. This way, you’re independently at the helm and retain control over the long term.
